Research and Planning: Double Page Spread Analysis

Genre: The genre of the double page spread it Rock. Firstly the Masthead  of the page gives us the first clue the "Kings Of Leon" are a southern rock group from the US. Secondly the long shot picture of obviously the Kings Of Leon gives the second clue. A wide shot of the band with the single light gives a slight sinister dark look to the image, which I would relate to rock music. although the colour scheme is very plain the hint of red in the Sub Heading relates with the stereotypical colours associated with rock music.

The target audience: Purely on the age of the band and type of magazine this is, I would have thought there audience would be Male students around the age of 18-25. I came to this conclusion because the magazine layout looks modern and new, also The Kings Of Leon became popular in the year 2000, 12 years ago with the average listener again around 15-20. the final thing that brought me to this conclusion is that a couple of there released albums have been aged rated and need parental  conformation to buy.
Layout: The layout of the Double page spread is split into the two main sections Text and Image.
The text is set out like an interview, with the questions in bold and answers in lower case, the text is set out in a newspaper columns differentiates the text from one long paragraph the use of colouring in the introduction draws your eye immediately to the interview text. The picture represents the band image by using a wide shot this shows all the band and full body, in terms of the genre of music they play the low lighting but one light source could possibly be the bright idea in term of music lyrics.
model representation: the body language of the band shows they are a layed back and relaxed the second from the right looks deep in thought could be thinking of next song or similar in terms of clothing its casual  again showing they could be relaxed, the facial expressions confused me and by the look of it them.
